Why do we offer free initial consultations ?
This is a question that can be answered very easily, the purpose of a free initial consultation is to provide you with basic information and answer any questions that you may have about a particular treatment that you are interested in. At the same time it allows you to visit the centre, meet the staff and for us to meet you too.
Why do people find these useful ?
Often people have not been to see a Dentist for a long time, sometimes they even have concerns about how they will feel, dental anxiety can be a real stumbling block for some people. The free initial consultation can really break the ice and put people at their ease.
Other people just want information about particular types of treatment, for example tooth whitening, dental implants, invisible orhthodontics etc. We are able to answer questions about those treatments and give people background information. That is of great benefit to most people, who often have misconceptions about what is involved.
Here at My Brilliant Smile Dental Centre in east grinstead, we genuinely want people to feel that we care about them and that we want to give them information without a biased approach or hard sell.
How long does the free consultation last ?
Most people that come in are here for about 10 to 15 mins. During that time we answer any questions that they may have.
Does the free initial consultation include an examination ?
No the free initial consultation does not include a free examination, it includes what is outlined above. Once you have attended the free initial consultation, if you want to look at things further we can then make a reservation for you to attend for a clinical examination. We hope that people will realise that we are trying to help them.
Why does the free initial consultation not include a free examination?
A new patient examination normally takes more than 30 minutes to complete, it involves a head and neck exam, as well as an examination of all the teeth, soft tissues, salivary glands, tongue and cheeks. A comprehensive, confidential, medical and dental history form has to be recorded and discussed. Also all the existing natural teeth and any fillings, crowns etc have also to be charted and recorded. Sometimes radiographs have to be taken as a diagnostic aid, however only when required and not routinely. So you can see it just would not be possible to provide this for free.
